Mrs. Neuenschwander's Class- General Information
General Information:
• School starts at 7:45. Students may come into the classroom starting at 7:30. The tardy bell rings at 7:45.
• Students are to bring their backpack to school each day. It is the student’s responsibility to get all of their belongings to the appropriate place. We do not check backpacks for folder, notes, etc. If you have an urgent note, please place the note in the pocket of your child's folder or notify me through email.
• All jackets, sweaters, lunch boxes, water bottles, and backpacks should be labeled with your child’s name.
• All money sent to school needs to be in a sealed envelope labeled with the student’s name, teacher’s name, and purpose for the money in order to be readily accountable.
• For SAFETY reasons, please ensure that you or any visitor sign in at the front office. You should also pick up a visitor’s badge at that time.
Going Home Information:
• School is dismissed at 3:20. Students are escorted by teachers to their dismissal areas. For the sake of confusion and safety, parents are not allowed to meet their child at the classroom during dismissal time.
• Please call the OFFICE as soon as possible (by 1pm) if you decide to change departure. Otherwise, no matter what the student tells us, we are required to send them home the way you established from the beginning. If your child does not usually take the bus but you would like them to, please send a note stating they are to ride the bus so the office can provide your child a bus pass.
Lunch:
• Lunch is paid for through the cafeteria. We strongly encourage parents to send a check at the beginning of the week or month to ensure proper credit is applied to your child’s account. If your child does not have sufficient funds in their account, they will receive a cheese sandwich and milk.
Snack:
• Your child may bring a water bottle and a dry, healthy snack each day. Please remember that snack is a brief time in our classroom. Your child should bring only 1 small item that does not require any type of utensil.
Birthdays:
• Due to the FMNV law, we must celebrate birthdays after the lunch hour, and treats must be store bought products. We will celebrate birthdays at 2:00.
• Your child may pass out birthday invitations at school, provided there is an invitation for every child in the classroom. It will go home in the students' daily agenda. If everyone in the class will not be invited, invitations MUST be delivered outside of school/school hours.
Correspondence:
• Please put all notes/information inside your child’s folder pocket. They will check them each morning as they come in. Please remember I will not be checking backpacks. A Thursday folder will also be sent home with general school information and flyers and graded work.
• I strive to check my e-mail on a regular basis, therefore it is one of the quickest ways to share information. However, as our days do get busy, please notify the office 512-260-4400 with any urgent information. Please feel free to e-mail me at anytime.
• Please keep me up to date on any changes to your address (home or e-mail) and phone number.
